A MEMORIAL football match in tribute to a popular Amersham teenager takes place this weekend.
The match between the Aaron West XI and the Our Chesham Team will take place at Chesham United FC on Sunday, October 26.
Money raised from the match will be donated to the Aaron West Goalkeeping Academy, the charity set up in Aaron's memory four years ago.
A promising footballer, Aaron died from a rare form of liver cancer in 2010 at the age of 16. His dying wish was to set up a sports academy to give training to other young goalkeepers in the Buckinghamshire area.
He died two days before a match he had set up to raise money to get the academy up and running was played. A memorial match in his honour has since become a regular fixture.
The gates open at 1pm for next Sunday's game, with the match kicking off an hour later. Entrance is by donation, while hot food while be on sale and the bar at the ground will be open.
