TELEVISION crews and the national press descended on Marlow this morning as the town prepared for the rumoured wedding party of George and Amal Clooney.

The newlyweds look set to sweep into South Bucks this weekend to toast their nuptials with friends and family after their fairytale wedding in Venice this month.

As well as the national press taking an interest in the town, ITV television crews went along the streets to get the views of excited residents for the breakfast show, Good Morning Britain.

The couple are widely reported to have block-booked Danesfield House near Marlow – a former stately home turned hotel and spa - for a wedding party with Amal Clooney’s family, who are from Gerrards Cross.

Bucks Free Press:

A wedding invitation shown in many national publications, claims the wedding party will begin at 8pm, on Saturday, October 25.

The intimate, weekend-long bash is said to feature a dinner and dance on Saturday night where in-laws can get a chance to spend time with the couple in private after the media whirlwind that was their Venice wedding.

And celebrity guests including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are rumoured to be flying in for the occasion.

Danesfield House – thought to be a favourite destination of Mrs Clooney’s parents - is likely to be sealed off to prevent unwanted guests invading the A-list couple’s honeymoon soiree.

George is no stranger to the rolling countryside of South Bucks, after filming movie The Monuments Men alongside Matt Damon in the Hambleden valley last year.

George and Amal – a former Dr Challoner’s High School pupil - recently bought a house in Sonning, Berkshire, after deciding to settle down this side of the Atlantic.
