High Wycombe Lions Club held a blind bowling event last week.
The event, which took place at Handy Cross Indoor Bowls Rink, was organised in celebration of Lions World Sight Day.
High Wycombe’s mayor Khalil Ahmed and Lions district governor Ramesh Parmar were among those in attendance.
Organiser Doug Nower said: “We thought this would be an imaginative way of making World Sight Day by enabling sighted people to experience how it’s possible to take part in sport when you can’t see.
“We were inspired by the example of the Paralympics and Invictus Games to try and increase public awareness of the opportunities available for partially sighted and disabled persons to compete in sport.
“We also hope to highlight the valuable work done by local sight-related charities such as Diabetes UK and the Wycombe Talking Newspaper.”
The event was held on Wednesday, October 15.
