FRIENDS and family of a teenager who died following a car collision in Hughenden on Monday have paid tribute to the 19-year-old.

Julian Randall from Woodley, Reading, passed away earlier this week.

Julian’s father Duncan Randall told the Reading Chronicle: “He was out with friends that day but may have become separated from them.

“But that’s for the investigation.”

He said: “Nothing can be worse than sitting there moping. We’re just getting on with it — that’s the best therapy.”

In remembering his son’s funny side, Mr Randall said: “The things he used to say would crack me up but it was the way he said it not just what he said.”

Flowers laid at the scene of the crash

Since the tragic collision, flowers and cards have been left at the roadside and many have also paid tribute to him by posting messages on social media.

The family also paid tribute to Julian in a statement. It read: “A son. Brother. And best friend to all. Julian James Randall was one of the craziest and well known people of Reading.

“He was never one to judge and everyone that knew him was honoured. He never failed to put a smile on those around him, we all love and miss you Julian. Heaven gained an angel. Rest in peace beautiful.”

The teenager worked at a Pets at Home store in Winnersh. Colleagues paid tribute to the “pet lover”.

Store manager Leo Whiting said: “We were all shocked and upset to learn of this tragic accident and send our sincere condolences to Julian’s family and friends.

“Julian was a popular colleague and a committed pet lover who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.”

Following his death, a RIP Julian Randall Facebook page was also started for friends and family to leave their tributes.

On the page, Joe Knipe said: “Rest in peace Julian. Such sad news, my thoughts are with your friends & family xx”.

Victoria Prince added: “Taken far too soon. Rest in peace dude xx”.

Yesterday an investigation was launched into police’s response following reports that a man was walking in the road prior to Julian’s death.
