The past 12 months have not only been a busy year for news stories, but also for pictures.

We asked our photographer, Anita Ross-Marshall, to pick her favourite pictures from each month.

It was tough wading through the hundreds she has taken over the past year and picking just 60 favourites, but below are her top images from February.

We will be featuring the top five pictures from each month, every day, throughout the 12 days of Christmas.

Do you have a favourite? Take part in our ballot below and tell us which is your chosen image for this month.

Join us tomorrow for March's top five photos.
