Dozens of residents in High Wycombe are still waiting to have their internet and phone lines reconnected following “malicious cuts” to the cabling.

Residents in the area surrounding Deeds Grove have been left without access to their BT service for nearly two weeks.

Last week, a BT spokesman said they had received nearly 300 reported faults from customers who were affected by the “attack” on the network.

Criticism has been levelled at BT for the length of time it has take for engineers to reconnect residents.

Marian Heawood, of Deeds Grove, said she has been told a number of different dates when the fault will be fixed and the uncertainty has left her feeling on edge.

She said: “There is a lot of inconvenience; I feel very disorientated. There are so many things I can’t do without access to my phone and the internet.

“I feel quite tense and stressed because they [BT] keep telling me it’ll be fixed and then it isn’t.

“We just want to know what’s going on and for BT to be honest with us.”

BT spokesman, Paul Hayward, said there are still about 80 reported faults that need to be fixed and that they hope to have everyone reconnected by the weekend.

He said: “This reconnection work is complex and time-consuming and has taken longer than we initially hoped. We have been working to clear this as quickly as possible.

“We have around 80 reported faults still to reconnect.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience whilst this is being worked on. We are hoping that have restored all services by the weekend as long as we don’t hit any problems.”
