The M40 has reopened following a two-vehicle crash on the southbound carriageway between Junction 1a (M25) and Junction1 (A40).

Two vehicles crashed on the London bound carriageway this afternoon. Firefighters were called to the scene at 1.50pm and released a man who was injured.

South Central Ambulance Service took a male with a possible neck injury to Wexham Park Hospital.

Police closed the road while recovery work took place.

Earlier reports said that the road was due to remain closed until late this evening. However, all three lanes have now reopened.
