A 26-year-old man who died in a car crash on the M40 yesterday has been named locally as Seb Knowles, believed to be the son of a BBC television antiques expert.

UPDATE: read a selection of the tributes left online in memory of Seb.

Tributes have flooded in on social media for the Wycombe Sound DJ, who is understood to be the son of Antiques Roadshow star Eric Knowles, who has cancelled an appearance in the Isle of White because of a ‘family bereavement’.

Wycombe Wanderers Football Club have led the tributes to Seb – described as a fan of the club – by holding a one-minute applause before their game against Northampton Town today.

Yesterday, police confirmed that a man passed away in the early hours of Friday morning after a crash involving a Mercedes and a lorry near junction 1a of the M40.

They are currently appealing for witnesses.

Also known as DJ Sparky B, the 26-year-old was living in Reading, officers said.

Eric Knowles told the Oxford Times last year that he currently lives in High Wycombe.

His agent was approached for comment earlier this evening, but he confirmed the family would not be formally leaving a tribute at the moment.

Following the announcement of the fatal collision, dozens of people have left tributes in his honour on Twitter:
