Two cars overturned on the same stretch of road in different accidents just three hours apart, as heavy rain battered south Buckinghamshire.

The accidents happened in Sheepridge Lane, between Little Marlow and Flackwell Heath, a road which has become notorious for cars overturning following collisions.

In the last year almost 10 vehicles have been reported to overturn on the road, although an exact number is not known.

On this occasion two vehicles were damaged in separate crashes as heavy rain flooded parts of the county yesterday.

At 1.52pm, police say a Vauxhall Corsa left the road and landed in a ditch in the lane.

Recovery vehicles removed the car from the side of the road, but just hours later at 5.58pm the emergency services returned to the scene after a Nissan Juke overturned in a different ditch, police said.

South Central Ambulance Service was not able to confirm if anyone was injured in these incidents at the time we went to print.

In the past residents have called for a review of the 60mph speed limit on the windy lane and have suggested a reduced speed limit is needed.
