A teenager is set to follow her dreams of a career in ballet after being awarded a place with a prestigious classical company.
Ellie Hennequin, 15, who goes to Holmer Green Senior School, has been offered a place as a senior associate with the Birmingham Royal Ballet.
The year 11 student auditioned in Covent Garden, London, along with hundreds of hopefuls and was watched by a panel of judges who assessed her knowledge and understanding of ballet.
The keen dancer will now travel to Birmingham every Saturday to train with the leading ballet company.
Ellie said: “I was really pleased to be offered a place at Birmingham Royal Ballet as a senior associate. I have been dreaming of this opportunity from the age of two.”
Teacher Annie Hearne said: "We are very proud of Ellie. She works incredible hard, both in school and for her career.
“She has such a clear vision for her future and the school support her wholeheartedly and embrace her passion for ballet."
