A school in Beaconsfield has had its new state of the art building recognised in a prestigious award ceremony.

Davenies School’s £5 million Jubilee building was recognised in the RIBA (The Royal Institute of British Architects) South Awards on April 28 and will now be considered for the national awards later this year.

The building, which is for the school’s pre-prep and junior pupils, was officially opened on October 17 last year by television personality and nearby resident Johnny Ball.

The Jubilee building was one of 65 projects that were considered by a panel of acclaimed architects looking for architectural excellence, sustainability and a creative and innovative design.

The award was presented to architects Martin Pearson and Isabel Moreira from DSDHA who designed the Jubilee Building and Caroline Purdom, Bursar at Davenies School, by Wendy Perring the Chair of the RIBA South Jury at a ceremony at Ascot Racecourse.
