An out-of-control dog is set to be put down after mauling a woman in Marlow earlier this year – and the owner of the vicious pet has also been slapped with a £3,000 fine.

Magistrates have ordered that the Bull Terrier, named ‘Bonzo’ by its 51-year-old owner, be destroyed after attacking Dawn Bagley in February.

Owner Anne Coombs, of Butler Court, Marlow, faced magistrates in High Wycombe earlier this month and was told that the dog needed to be killed after being found guilty.

She was also ordered to pay £1,400 in costs and £1,600 in compensation, during the court hearing on June 13.

Ms Bagley was injured after the dog launched at her, while being “dangerously” out-of-control.

An order has now been made under Section 37 of the Animal Welfare Act 2006 for the destruction of the animal.

At the time of the court case, Coombs was told she had 21 days to appeal the decision at the crown court.
