The deputy head teacher at Great Marlow School says he is “delighted” at an excellent set of GCSE results this year.

Kevin Ford, deputy head at the school in Bobmore Lane, said more than 65 per cent of students achieved five or more A* to C grades including English and Maths in their GCSEs this year.

He added: “I am very, very pleased and delighted with an excellent set of results.

“Almost half of the students achieved five or more A* to B grades and almost 25 per cent got three or more A* to A grades. So we are really, absolutely delighted with that.”

Charlotte Miller and Lauren Walker each got eight A* and two As, while Oli Emmett-Bird got three A*, four As, one B and two Cs.

Charlotte Raddon also excelled with two A* grades, five As and three Bs.

Pupil Jake Cornwell is celebrating achieving all A and B grades at GCSE, despite admitting he did not revise.

He said: “I did pretty well. I was pretty much expecting to get these grades. I'm going to stay on here and do A-Levels in Maths, Computer Science and Psychics. I hope they will give me a good chance for uni.”

Rehaan Kiani was pleased with his grades of Bs and Cs and is also planning to stay on at the school to complete A-Levels.

He said: “I think I did quite well, there were a few hiccups but overall I'm happy with what I got. I got B in English and Maths which I'm happy with. I’m hoping to go to uni but I'm not looking that far ahead yet.”
