Two men from High Wycombe have been jailed after two burglaries in June this year.

Waqar Jamil, 21, of Alford Road, and Israr Aslam, 28, of Chiltern Avenue, pleaded guilty to two counts of handling stolen goods and were convicted at Amersham Crown Court on Wednesday, September 21.

On June 11, sometime between 6.30pm and 11.48pm, a woman returned to her property in Mulbery Close to find it had been ransacked and Asian gold stolen.

On June 25 at a man came home at 5.55pm to his property in Deeds Grove to find it had also been broken into and Asian gold and cash had been stolen.

Aslam was sentenced to three years and two months in prison and Jamil was sentenced to one year and four months.

Both were charged on June 29, police confirmed today.

Investigating officer Det Sgt Daniel Tucker, said: “I am pleased that Jamil and Aslam have admitted their involvement in these offences and hope this helps to bring a sense of closure to the burglary victims.

“The convictions are a result of a great team effort from a number of different departments based at High Wycombe police station and Thames Valley Police will continue to work tirelessly to ensure offenders are brought to face the consequences of their actions.”
