A new gastropub by celebrity chef Raymond Blanc, which is coming to Chalfont St Peter, will open on October 24, bosses have confirmed.

The former Village hall pub in Gold Hill West was acquired by the Michelin-starred chef’s White Brasserie Company in August and said it planned to revert back to its “traditional” name, The Jolly Farmer, in honour of the history of its location.

Bosses say the pub will be set in a “beautifully restored” completely refurbished building that “respects the heritage of The Jolly Farmer name” and will serve food for the whole family which will include "classic" British pub food and French dishes, as well as cocktails, wines, draught beers and bitters.

The refurbishment includes the renovation of the terrace at the front of the building to provide 100 covers for outdoor drinking and dining, as well as more traditional window frames replacing the previous 1950s-style windows, according to a spokesman.

Brasserie Bar Co CEO Mark Derry said: “We are delighted to have added The Jolly Farmer to our portfolio of pubs.

“This beautiful pub sits at the heart of Chalfont’s community, and we look forward to welcoming guests to enjoy quality food and drink in a relaxing and welcoming environment.”
