MORE THAN 60 schools across the county are partially or fully closed today as thousands of teachers go on strike calling for better pay. 

Industrial action has been taken by the National Education Union - but members are not obliged to tell their employers if they will be participating until the day of the strikes.

It comes after strike action was taken by teachers last month.

Here is the full list of closures today:

  • Amersham School - On March 15 Year groups in school will be Years 7, 10, 12 & 13. Years 8, 9 and 11 will be learning online, at home. On Thursday, March 16, Year groups in school will be Years 8, 11, 12 & 13. Years 7, 9 and 10 will be learning online at home.
  • Aston Clinton School - School has moved to remote learning for specific pupil groups only due to industrial action by the National Education Union (NEU). The following classes/groups are affected and will need to work remotely from home – 1 Paddington, 2 Whizzpoppers, 2 Phizzwizards. All other pupil classes/groups will still run as normal. We will return to normal operations on Friday 17th March and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
  • Aylesbury High School (Girls) - The following classes/groups are affected Wednesday 15 March ONLY Years 7 & 10 will be working at home. Years 8, 9 & 11 will be in school as usual &classes/groups will still run as normally as possible . Years 12 & 13 students are expected in school at 10.05 am. Thursday 16 March ONLY Years 7, 8 & 9 will be working from home Years 10 & 11 will be in school as usual &classes/groups will still run as normally as possible . Years 12 & 13 students are expected in school at 8.45am in time for registration.
  • Aylesbury Vale Academy (includes Berryfields CofE Primary) - Pre-school, Years 2, 6, 11, 12 and 13 should attend school as normal. Reception, Years 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10 will move to remote learning and should remain at home.
  • Beaconsfield High School (Girls) - We have moved to remote learning for Years 7, 8, and 10. Year 9, 11, 12 and 13 will be in school (plus invited students to include vulnerable children and children of critical workers) Thursday 16th March We have moved to remote learning for Years 7, 8, and 9. Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 will be in school (plus invited students to include vulnerable children and children of critical workers) 
  • Bearbrook Combined School - The following classes are closed for Wednesday and Thursday: 1MP, 4L, 5S, 6S. The following class will be open today but closed tomorrow 2T.
  • Bedgrove Infant School - On the 15th March the following classes/groups are affected and will need to work remotely from home – Foundation 2/Reception, Whale and Dolphin class. On 16th March the following classes/groups are affected and will need to work remotely from home – Foundation 2/Reception, Whale class. 
  • Bourne End Academy - Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 only are affected due to industrial action. All other year groups will still run as normal.
  • Brushwood Junior School - Due to industrial action by the NEU Teaching Union school will only be open to the following classes on Wednesday 15th March: 3O, 4J and 6N, these children will need to come to school in PE kit. On Thursday 16th March school will be open to all classes except 5M. 
  • Burford School - Remote learning for specific pupil groups only due to industrial action by the National Education Union (NEU) on Wednesday 15th March. The following classes are affected and will need to work remotely from home* - Pine, Elm & Chestnut Classes. All other year groups, including Nursery, will still run as normal. We will return to usual operations on Thursday 16th March
  • Carrington Infant School - Partially closed - specific circumstances. Parents of affected classes in Reception and Year 2 have been notified All other pupil classes will still run as normal.
  • Carrington Junior School - Only Year 6, 5s, and 3S are open all day. 3C may attend from 1215. Thursday: As above, 5s finish at 2:15pm. 3C remains closed all day.
  • Castlefield School - On both Wednesday 15th March and Thursday 16th March, Castlefield School has moved to remote learning for specific pupil groups.
  • Cedar Park School - We will return to normal operations on Friday, 17th March and apologise for any inconvenience caused. Wednesday, 15th March - Nursery, Year 1 and Year 5 are closed and will reopen on Thursday, 16th March Thursday, 16th March - Year 4 closed and will reopen on Friday, 17th March
  • Chalfont St Giles Junior School- Ash class will be closed and shouldn't come into school on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March. Work will be available on Google Classroom. All other pupil classes/groups will still run as normal. 
  • Chiltern Hills Academy -  The school site will be closed to students in Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 only. Teachers who are striking or absent due to other reasons will not be teaching on this day. Years 7 - 10: Teachers who are not striking will provide a Teams meet link in their SMHW for a live remote lesson. Students should check SMHW for the time that the lesson is normally scheduled and join the lesson by the link. The protocols for live lessons will be shared in a separate communication. Years 11 - 13: Students should come to school as normal.
  • Chiltern Way Academy -  All identified children and children of keyworkers will attend school at each campus. Prestwood is fully open apart from 12MN. Bierton and Wendover are partially open. Thursday 16th March: Prestwood and Bierton are fully open. Wendover Campus is partially open, including all identified children and children of keyworkers. 
  • Cressex Community School - Wednesday 15th March: School will be open for all students in Years 9, 10, 12 & 13. Parents of Year 9 and Year 10 students have been notified of end of school timings. Parents of Year 8 and Year 11 students have been notified of end of school timings.  School will also be open for children of critical workers and vulnerable children (those who have an Education, Health, and Care Plan and those who are supported by a social worker). School will be closed for Years 7, 9 & 10 with work posted on SMHW. All students who are eligible for free school meals, can attend school between 12-12.45pm to have a hot meal on both days.
  • Disraeli School and Children's Centre - The following classes/groups are affected and will need to work remotely from home There will be NO reception classes open in the afternoon – please collect children at 12.30pm. Year 2 - Zebra Fish, Year 3 – Clown Fish, Year 3 – Parrot Fish, Year 4 – ALL Year 4 classes, Year 5 – Razor Fish
  • Dr Challoner's High School (Girls) -   The following classes/groups are affected and will need to work remotely from home – Year 7 on the 15th March and Year 9 on the 16th March. All other pupil classes/groups will still run as normal
  • The Grange School - The Grange School has moved to remote learning for students in Years 8,9,10 and 12 only due to industrial action by the National Education Union (NEU). For students in Years 7, 11 and Year 13, as well children of Key Workers and vulnerable students, the school will be open and run as close to normal as we can.
  • Hawridge and Cholesbury Church of England School - The Year 3 class are affected and will need to work remotely from home – Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March. 
  • Heritage House School -  A class only is affected due to the industrial action by the National Education Union and should not come into school on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March 2023.
  • High Wycombe Church of England Combined School - On Wednesday 15th March ,the following classes/groups are affected and will need to work remotely from home – Year 2, 4 and 6. Year 3 will be in school in the morning and will need to be collected at 1pm. All other pupil classes/groups will still run as normal. On Thursday 16th March, Year 2 ,3, 4 and 6 are affected and will need to work remotely from home
  • Highcrest Academy - Moved to remote learning – specific pupil groups only- Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10. The following classes/groups are affected and will need to work remotely from home – Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10. 
  • Highworth Combined School and Nursery - Wednesday 15th March only: 3DN; 4M; 5K. Thursday 16th March only: RAA. All other classes will still run as normal. 
  • Hughenden Primary School - Foundation, Year 4 and Year 5 are closed due to the industrial action but the National Education Union and should not come into school on Wednesday 15th March. 
  • Iver Heath Junior School - Partially closed - specific circumstances.
  • Iver Village Infant School - Partially closed - specific circumstances.
  • Iver Village Junior School - Pupils will need to work remotely from home. 
  • John Colet School - Wednesday 15 March - Years 7, 8, 9, 10 - remote learning; Years 11, 12, 13 - in school. Thursday 16 March - Years 7, 8, 9, 11 (apart from those taking IT) - remote learning. Years 10, 11 (those taking IT), 12, 13 - in school
  • John Hampden Grammar School (Boys) - On Wednesday 15th March, Year 8 students are invited into school. On Thursday 16th March, Year 11 students are invited into school. 
  • Lane End Primary School - Please refer to the schooling sent out on Monday for full information on classes that are affected on Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Manor Farm Community Infant School - Partially closed due to NEU teacher strikes - parents to please refer to letter sent from school.
  • Manor Farm Community Junior School - Closed due to Teachers Strike Action on 15th March 2023. Partially closed on 16th March 2023. Open to years 5 & 6 only
  • The Misbourne School - Due to industrial action, The Misbourne will be partially open as follows: Wednesday 15th March: open only to Years 10, 11, 12 and 13. Other year groups (7, 8 and 9) should remain at home and move to remote learning online for the day, with work set via google classroom. (Pre-booked provision in-school has been made available for vulnerable students and children of critical workers). Thursday 16th March: open only to Years 8, 11, 12 and 13. Other year groups (7, 9 and 10)
  • Oak Green School - The following classes/groups are affected and will need to work remotely from home – 15.03.23 Barn Owls, 2B and 2C. 16.03.23 Barn Owls, Snowy Owls, 3A, 3C, 4B, 4C, 5A, 6A, 6B and 6C. All other pupil classes/groups will still run as normal. 
  • Oakridge School - Year 3, Year 4 and Year 6 Red Kites will be closed due to Teacher Strikes. Please check your e-mail for remote learning guidance.
  • Pioneer Secondary Academy - Year 11 and 13 will be in school on 15 and 16 March. Year 7,8,9 and 10 will move to remote learning.
  • Princes Risborough School - Years 7, 8, 9, 10 & 12 are affected and will need to work remotely from home. Classes for students in years 11 and 13 will still run as normal in school
  • Sir William Ramsay School - The following classes/groups are affected and will need to work remotely from home – Years 7, 8, 9 and 10. Year 11, 12 and 13 should attend school as normal. Dismissal times for Year 11 may be earlier than normal and have been communicated to parents.
  • St Edward's Catholic Junior School - St Edward's will be closed on 15th and 16th March because of industrial action by the National Education Union (NEU).
  • St Mary's Church of England Primary School (Amersham) - Closed due to specific circumstances– St Mary's CE Primary, Amersham School will be closed on this date because of industrial action by the National Education Union (NEU). 
  • St Mary's Church of England School (Aylesbury) - Partially closed due to specific circumstances, Wednesday, 15th March - Year 5 and Class RM are closed. Thursday, 16th March - 5S and 4I will be closed and will reopen on Friday, 17th March
  • Stokenchurch Primary School - Partially closed - specific circumstances. Due to NEU industrial action. Fully open again on Friday 17th March 2023.
  • Stony Dean School - Partially closed - due to industrial action.
  • The Thomas Hickman School - R Cherry moved to remote learning
  • Turnfurlong Junior School -  Wednesday 15/3/23- closed to 3T, 3J,3S,4T,4J,4S, 5T, 5J,6T,6J (classes 5S and 6S to come into school as normal) Thursday 16/3/23- closed to 3T,3J,3S,4J,4S (classes 4T,5T,5J,5S,6T,6J,6S to come into school as normal) Open to children with a social worker, EHCP or LAC.
  • Tylers Green Middle School - 3BC - closed to all pupils on both days 3V - closed to all pupils on both days 4R - closed to all pupils on Wednesday, open on Thursday 4B - closed to all pupils on Wednesday, open on Thursday 5H - closed to all pupils on both days 5OD - open to all pupils on both days 6M - open to all pupils on both days (covered by the Senior Leadership Team) 6FM - open to all pupils on both days All other pupil classes/groups will run as normal and children of critical workers and/or who have an EHCP have been invited into school on a case-by-case basis. 
  • Waddesdon Church of England School - On Wednesday 15th, the following year groups are affected and will need to work remotely from home – Year 7, Year 9 and Year 10. All other year groups will attend school as normal on Wednesday 15th. On Thursday 16th, the following year groups are affected and will need to work remotely from home – Year 8, Year 10 and Year 12.

  • Widmer End Combined School - The following classes only are affected due to industrial action by the National Education Union and should not come into school on this date. Reception Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Year 4 Year 6 All other pupil classes will still run as normal.
  • Wycombe High School (Girls) - The following Year groups will need to work remotely from home: Wednesday 15 March - Years 8, 9, and 10. There will be online provision for these students. Thursday 16 March - Years 7, 8, 9, and 10. There will be online provision for these students. All other pupil classes/groups will run as normal.
