A woman has been slapped with a fine after a waste collection she paid cash for was found dumped in Buckinghamshire countryside.

A Windsor resident was given a £300 fixed penalty notice for failing in her duty of care regarding her household waste.

The Royal Borough resident paid cash to a van man recommended to her by a friend to remove her waste, Buckinghamshire Council’s fly-tipping team said.

However, the items were found dumped along the A413 in Great Missenden on June 8.

The Council’s fly-tipping team said “no checks” were made by the woman.

They warned residents to not pay cash for trash and encouraged to make traceable payments to waste carriers.

“Without evidence from waste producer we are left at their door - and frequently it can suggest there was no 'carrier',” they added.
