The 2023 GP Patient survey revealed what patients think of their doctor's surgeries. 

The annual survey saw around 760,000 patients complete a questionnaire asking about their experiences with the local GP surgery.

The NHS England figures showed overall satisfaction in GPs across England fell to its lowest level since the survey began in 2018, with 71.3 percent of patients rating the service as "good" or "very good" in 2023 – down from 72.4 percent in 2022.

Here are the top 10 highest-rated GP practices in Buckinghamshire, Berkshide and Oxfordshire by the percentage of people who rated the service as good or very good, excluding those with fewer than 100 responses.

1. Dr Firth and Partners

 

Of the 103 people who responded to the GP survey, 97.1 percent described their overall experience of Dr Firth and Partners as "good" or "very good".

Some 68.4 percent said the practice was very good, while 28.7 percent said it was good. A further 0.5 percent said it was poor, while no one described the service as very poor.

2. Sibford Surgery

 

Coming in second was Sibford Surgery, where 84.7 percent of 211 people said their experience at the practice was very good, and 12.2 percent described it as good.

It meant the practice was rated at least good by 96.9 percent of patients, making it the second-highest rated practice in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

3. Berinsfield Health Centre

 

Berinsfield Health Centre came in third with a score of 96.6 percent.

Some 77.2 percent of patients at the practice rated the service as very good, while a further 19.4 percent believed it was just good.

Meanwhile, no one described the service as poor, but 0.9 percent said it was very poor.

4. Morland House Surgery

 

Coming in just outside the top three was Morland House Surgery, which 96.3 percent of 119 patients rated as good or very good.

The practice was rated very good by 76.3 percent of patients, and good by 20 percent.

However, no patients said the service was very poor, but 2.2 percent said it was poor.

5. The Boat House Surgery

 

Rounding out the top five GP practices in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire was the Boat House Surgery.

Of the 108 patients who responded to the GP survey, 95.5 percent said their experience at the practice was either good or very good.

This included 79.6 percent saying the practice was "very good", the highest grade on the survey.

6. Cropredy Surgery

 

With 94.9 percent of 123 patients grading the practice as good or very good, Cropredy Surgery ranked sixth in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

At the other end of the scale, just 1.2 percent said their overall experience was poor or very poor.

7. Chalgrove and Watlington Surgeries

 

At seventh place in the rankings was Chalgrove and Watlington Surgeries.

Patients' experience at the practice was rated as good or very good by 94.6 percent of the 109 respondents to the GP survey.

Of those, 54.1 percent rated it as very good.

8. Mill Stream Surgery

 

Mill Stream Surgery lands at eighth in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire.

This is thanks to 94.4 percent of patients at the practice describing their overall experience there as good or very good.

Of them, 61.9 percent said the service was very good, while 32.5 percent described it as good.

9. Wychwood Surgery

 

Placing at ninth place in the rankings is Wychwood Surgery.

Some 93.6 percent of the 131 patients who responded to the GP survey graded its service as good or very good.

At the other end of the scale, no one said their experience at the practice was very poor.

10. Kintbury and Woolton Hill Surgery

 

Rounding out the top 10 GP practices in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire is Kintbury and Woolton Hill Surgery, which was graded good or very good by 93.4 percent of patients who responded to the GP survey.

However, 0.6 percent rated the service as very poor, the lowest possible grade
