RESIDENTS in a Buckinghamshire town have been warned of another road closure.

Chesham residents have been warned of potential disruption in the town centre due to utility works.

Thames Water announced it was digging up part of King Street to repair a collapsed sewer pipe.

The works are expected to take place between Monday, October 2 and Friday October 13.

The road will be close during the works with a diversion through Red Lion Street in place.

A Thames Water spokesperson said: “We are carrying out a repair to a sewer pipe on King Street. The road will be closed during this time so our engineers can excavate the area in order to complete the repair and for the safety of pedestrians and motorists.

"We apologise for any disruption this may cause and would like to assure our customers that we are carrying out the repair as quickly and safely as possible."

Residents have criticised the number of roadworks causing serious disruption in the town, including recent Cadent gas works on Amersham Road in September.

Buckinghamshire Council fined Cadent after the  "poor management" of the Amersham Road works.
