A German glass house with a swimming pool has gone up for sale for £3.25 million in a Buckinghamshire village.

Buyers looking for a unique house could soon move into the Huf Haus in Seer Green near Beaconsfield.

The 5,047 sq ft house on Long Bottom Lane is built by the award-winning Huf Haus company based on the Bauhaus architecture tradition.

Huf Haus was founded before the First World War in 1912 in Krummel, Germany, by carpenter Johann Huf, whose descendants are involved with the running of the company to this day.

The modern-era Huf houses are designed to be energy efficient despite the use of the signature floor-to-ceiling glass windows and beam structures.

The Seer Green house with four bedrooms, four bathrooms and four lounges has an EPC rating of C and underfloor heating for cold winter days.

The tall windows throughout the house give unobstructed views of the mature gardens surrounding the house, designed by Chelsea Flower Show winner Andy Sturgeon.

The greenery has been carefully maintained to create an oasis on the secluded plot, including Edelweiss, lawned terraces and planting.

There is also a self-contained summer house and a swimming pool, but the pool will need to be recommissioned in the spring, the estate agent Savills said.

The ground floor contains two en suite bedrooms, a family room, a gym space, storage, laundry and access to the garage.

The main first floor has two more en suite bedrooms with a dressing room, an open plan dining and sitting room surrounded by a large balcony and a kitchen.
