A man has been jailed for more than six years after he was caught with cash and drugs.

Mohammed Junaid, 32 of Belgrade Road, Aylesbury, was sentenced to six years and three months imprisonment following a hearing at Aylesbury Crown Court on Tuesday, October 24.

It comes after he pleaded guilty at the same court at a hearing on July 27 to one count each of possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession with intent to supply cannabis, and possession of criminal property – namely cash.

He also pleaded guilty to being concerned in the fraudulent evasion of a prohibition on the importation of class B drug, namely cannabis, and two counts of driving while disqualified.

The criminal activity was discovered on June 27 2023 when police officers from Aylesbury conducted a stop and search on Junaid after he got out of his car on Bicester Road.

He was arrested after the officers found bags of cannabis, more than £2,000 in cash and mobile phones on him.

When a police search raided addresses connected to Junaid, they recovered £45,000 worth of Class A and Class B drugs. He was charged in relation with the drugs and criminal property and driving offences.

Alongside this, the Border Force intercepted packages with 2kg of cannabis that were being sent to addresses connected to Junaid, which led him to being charged with fraudulent evasion.

He was charged for all offcences on June 28.

Investigating officer PC Jake Farrell said: “I am satisfied that Junaid has been sentenced for his crimes.

“The distribution of drugs is detrimental to our communities and the violence and misery it brings will not be tolerated in Aylesbury.

“We will continue to investigate and work with partner agencies in order to investigate offenders like Junaid and bring them before the courts to face justice.”
