A new opticians in a Buckinghamshire town is gearing up for its grand opening ceremony, ready to claim its place in the local community.

A new Specsavers branch will open on Gatehouse Road in Aylesbury on Monday, November 13, with the ribbon-cutting honours carried out by the town’s mayor, councillor Steven Lambert.

The popular opticians chain already has a base on Aylesbury High Street, but the new branch will reportedly boast new features including the very latest optical scanning equipment and a sound-proofed audiology room for hearing appointments.

Ansar Asghar, store director at the new Specsavers, said he was “super excited” to welcome the Aylesbury community in and show them the new services on offer.

He added: “Our aim is that this location will act as a sister store to our town centre store – adding a convenient option for those looking for the very best optical and audiology care.

“Alongside our commitment to eye and hearing care, we’re also passionate about our community, supporting people and places.

“As part of our opening activity, we’ll be helping the local foodbank by making donations of non-perishable food items and will be championing the activity with our customers too.”

Ansar and his co-director Dewartha Guha will co-own and run both the High Street and Gatehouse Road stores and have recruited five members of the local community to join the new branch’s team.

From Monday, November 13, the Specsavers on Gatehouse Road will be open from Monday to Saturday, between 9am and 5:30pm.
