A small business owner from Buckinghamshire is preparing to sell handmade crafts and accessories from her first pop-up shop - opening just in time for Christmas.

Sarah Orpin, a Buckinghamshire-based crafter and designer, founded her small business Butterfly Bazaar back in 2017, mostly exhibiting her handmade bags, quilts, accessories and more at local craft fairs and art weeks.

Sarah, who lives in Prestwood, is now gearing up to launch her first-ever pop-up shop at Layby Farm in Stoke Mandeville, the home of the Bucks Goats Centre, next week.

In the past, she has primarily showcased her products via social media and on her website, with the textile-based and knitted items available for in-person collection from her Buckinghamshire home.

It was a business model that worked especially well during the COVID-19 pandemic and the gradual easing of the lockdown period - when she became even more of a well-known community presence by creating and selling thousands of face masks.

Sarah said: "I am constantly sewing and, as such, have amassed a vast quantity of bags, quilts, cushions, wallets and knitted items.

"I often have to choose what to take with me to craft fairs, as I can't possibly take it all each time.

"My daughter Sophie spotted the opportunity to open this pop-up shop and the idea of having a large space where I can have all my items on display really appealed to me.

"I'm excited to get everything set up and start welcoming people into my own little shop!"

The Butterfly Bazaar pop-up shop will be open at Layby Farm from Monday, November 27 to Friday, December 3 between the hours of 10am and 4pm daily.
