A man has been handed over £1,000 in fines and costs after failing to assist the police in identifying a driver.

Will Dent, 30, of Lime Farm, Amersham, appeared before High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on March 12.

The defendant failed to help the police identify the driver of an Audi suspected of an offence between March 23 and April 20 last year.

Dent pleaded guilty, and was fined £900.

In addition, he is required to pay a £360 victim surcharge, and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

As the defendant owns a business and employs two people, it was assessed that disqualifying him from driving would be problematic.

Instead, his licence was endorsed with six points.
