A man has been arrested in relation to a burglary at the Sainsbury’s supermarket in Marlow.
Just before 3am on Monday, April 1, staff at the Sainsbury’s on West Street called police after they “heard glass being smashed inside the store”.
Offenders stole a “quantity” of high-value whiskey and cognac and tried and failed to break into the store’s cigarette cabinet.
They then fled the scene in a black Citroen Grand C4.
Thames Valley Police believe the incident is linked to a burglary at the Co-op supermarket on Arthur Road in Windsor that happened a few hours before, at around 12:50am.
Two men dressed in black broke into the Berkshire shop and stole cigarettes before leaving in a large black car.
Police arrested a 36-year-old man from Windsor on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary on Wednesday, April 3.
He has been released on conditional bail until June 26.
Anyone with information about either incident should call 101 or make a report on the Thames Valley Police website, quoting reference number 43240148410.
Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or via its website.
