A popular Italian restaurant chain will open at the former site of the Marlow Bar and Grill this month.
Piccolino, an Italian restaurant known for its stylish interiors and authentic food, will open at 92-94 on Marlow High Street on Monday, May 20.
The group behind Piccolino, Individual Restaurants, also operated the Marlow Bar and Grill, and the change in branding represents a shift in focus towards “growing (the group’s) collection of Italian restaurants in the home counties”.
A spokesperson for Individual Restaurants previously indicated that the changeover would be unveiled in July following a £500,000 renovation but confirmed this week that a new opening date had been set for just a few weeks’ time.
The restaurant will have a 160-guest capacity, with a brass and marble-topped bar area and a winterised secret garden at its rear.
Its new interiors will also include wood panelling, diamond-cut mirrors and greenery, and a heated terrace out the back to host DJ nights no matter what the weather this summer.
An exclusive menu also promises a “journey of taste using the finest ingredients across Italy”, with fish filleted tableside, Fassona beef sourced from Piedmont and a Carbonara Grande prepared at the table from a giant pecorino cheese wheel.
Andrew Garton, CEO of Individual Restaurants, said he hoped the branding change from the bar and grill to Piccolino would be a “welcome change” for loyal customers in the town.
