Two big names in Marlow came together this week and praised the town for its community support of their trade.

World renowned chef, Tom Kerridge, joined property expert Paul Deriaz at the 30th anniversary celebrations of his firm, Deriaz Slater in Court Garden on Tuesday.

The celebrity chef, who owns The Coach and The Hand and Flowers on West Street said in an in interview with Mr Deriaz: “Marlow is so good to young businesses. If you are passionate about what you do then Marlow will help you survive.”

And when asked if he would be opening any new eateries in the area he said ‘never say never’.

He said: “In terms of plans and aspirations it’s all to do with people and staff. I want people to grow with us as a business. I want to grow as a team rather than say I am going to take on the world.”

Mr Deriaz reflected on his time as a businessman in Marlow over the past 30 years at the event, and also discussed his aspirations for the future.

He said: “I endeavour to create a really strong team ethic and value each individual for their contribution to our goals and objectives.

“Moving forward as a practice, we strive for growth, particularly consultancy and professional work and our current team have got the skills and capacity to achieve that.”
