A brutal gang repeatedly stabbed a teenager and punched a woman after cornering them in a High Wycombe alleyway and demanded they hand over cash.

The victim, a 19-year-old man, suffered "sustained" stab wounds during the shocking attack after he was approached by four men while walking along an alleyway between West End Street and Rutland Street at about 1am last Thursday.

After one of the four attackers demanded the victim and a 25-year-old woman he was walking with hand over cash they began to assault and stab him.

Scared, the woman began to scream out for help, but was punched before all four ran off.

The stabbing victim was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford for treatment, from where he has since been discharged.

The woman sustained minor injuries.

Detectives are now hunting the four men involved in the assault.

The suspects are black. Three of them were described as being slim; one of them was stocky, and they ranged in height from 5ft 6ins to 6ft.

They were all wearing hooded tops or hooded jackets.
