WANDERERS boss Gareth Ainsworth said Steven Craig is an unsung hero of the side after the striker had a hand in both goals against AFC Wimbledon.

The Scotsman's header cleared the path for Josh Scowen to cut through the defence to open the scoring, before his errant shot was turned into the net by Sam Wood's head.

And Ainsworth said: "I hope people see what Stevie did today, because he works tirelessly. He's a warrior out there for us - he'll take some batterings, but it's all for the team."

Craig said: "I'm definitely claiming two assists, without a doubt. The second one I think was going two or three yards wide and hit big Sam Wood on the back post.

"I think there was maybe a shout for offside - you get the rub of the green when you're at the top end of the table.

"Winning 2-0 against a very good AFC Wimbledon side is a good result."

Craig dedicated the victory to the memory of a former team mate's father.

He said the result was a dedication to his ex Livingston team mate James McPake's dad Mick, who passed away this week.
