Joe Jacobson insists he has no hard feelings against his old club Shrewsbury Town - but says Sunday's game is the one he wants to win more than any other this season.

An end-of-season phone call informed the former Welsh U21 international he was being released by the Shrews despite winning the player of the year and goal of the season award last year.

He's enjoying an excellent season at left back with Blues after three years in Shropshire - during which time he won promotion - and said his aim is simply to maintain the high standards he's set for himself.

Jacobson said: "This is the one game I've wanted to play in this season.

"I had a great affiliation with everyone there and enjoyed my time there, but I go into the game as a Wycombe player and I want to win the game, probably more than anyone else this weekend. I'm going to do everything I can to do that.

"I don't think I've got a point to prove at all. Last season I picked up a few awards at the end of the season, I thought I played to the best of my ability for Shrewsbury - I gave everything I could have for the club.

"If anything I've got a point to prove to the Wycombe fans that I want to get up to the standards I've shown.

"I have no regrets or anything. I thought I handled myself amicably throughout the whole three years I was there.

"I found myself at Wycombe, which I'm delighted at. We're flying high, which shows it was a good move for me."
