Chesham United’s hopes of ending their season with a trophy were scuppered as they lost 1-0 to Aylesbury FC in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup final.

Danny Gordon’s 50th minute strike for Aylesbury was the difference as the Generals epic season reached a disappointing conclusion.

Chesham can still look back fondly on a campaign which saw them enjoy some of their best form in their cup competitions including a run to the FA Cup second round.

In contrast, it was a Monday to remember for Flackwell Heath as they came from behind to beat Brackley Town Saints 2-1 in the Hellenic League Cup final.

Dan Molloy and Dan Rapley got the goals for the Heathens as they secured the win in extra time.

They will look to make it a double success this week when they take on Pitstone & Ivinghoe in the Wycombe Senior Cup on Thursday.

It was a hectic bank holiday weekend for Holmer Green as they played on both Saturday and Monday.

They got off to a fine start in the physically demanding run of fixtures with a 3-1 win over Hertford Town.

Green had to cope with a number of absentees, but could not be denied as Dean Allen’s 200th goal for the club and strikes from Luke Graham and Martin Lancaster sealed the win.

Monday’s match against Hoddesdon Town was a much less entertaining affair as Green were held to a 0-0 draw.

Town were looking to move up to second place in the South Midland premier League with a win but could not break down a stubborn Green side who finish the season seventh.

Risborough Rangers were also involved in two matches as they took on Harpenden Town last Thursday.

Rangers had taken the lead through Martin Griggs’ fifth minute goal but let two late goals in to lose the south Midland Division One match 2-1.

Griggs was in fine form again on Saturday with two goals against Chesham United Reserves, but could not prevent his side from drawing 2-2.

Finally Amersham Town suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of AFC Hillgate in the South Midland Division Two. Dante Fraser got the Amersham goal.
