Marlow United’s under-13 Tigers are celebrating a double success after winning the East Berks Football Alliance (EFBA) league and cup titles.

The Tigers impressive run to the league and cup success started back in September and they have since won 25 games in a row in all competitions and scored 168 goals throughout the season.

Their rampant form saw them finish six points clear of nearest rivals Camberley Town Youth in the EFBA Division One table.

With the league title secured, the Tigers turned their attention to the cup final on Saturday as they travelled to Ascot FC to take on Thatcham.

True to form they dominated proceedings from kick-off and created several early chances before Alfie Pendlebury broke the deadlock with a superb free kick.

A fine save from Tigers keeper Frazer Wilson kept his side in the ascendency and Rowan Smith soon made it 2-0.

Alex Dimmock’s incisive run down the right gave captain Jack Gibson the chance to add a third before half-time, and Marlow’s top scorer did not disappoint with an unerring finish.

The second half followed the same pattern as Marlow created a number of chances and Ted Woodisse completed the scoring.

The players were praised for their commitment and ability by the club’s coaching staff after a win which sees them advance to a national tournament which will take place in June.
